Data from McLeester and others.
Strohmeier supplied birth and death data as well as the following -
Louis married the mother of Emelie, but she died in childbirth. (inCincinnati?) He went back to Germany and brought back to the US hisfirst wife's sister, Pauline. Louis was a Lutheran, but his ministerwouldn't marry them because of the family relation. Louis refused tohave anything to do with the Lutheran church after that. (fromconversation with Carolyn Weiland.)

I've recently started some family history work. My family has an oldphoto album that starts with Louis Kaltenbacher and his wife PaulineErdtel. Louis came to the states from Wurtenburg Germany about 1856and child Amilia or Emilia was born in Cincinnati in 56, Flora andLouis Jr, in Evansville in 58 and 60, and Pauline, Charles, Ida,Edward and Robert in Louisville, from 1863 on. In this photo album,there's a photo of Elizabeth Kaltenbacher Sohmer and SebastianKaltenbacher (probably taken late 1860's or early 70's.) Louisvilleobituaries of some family members say to copy to Evansville andBelleville, Ill. Past that, I can't find any direct ties to theStephan K family of Evansville. Does anyone on this site have anyproof of family links? Thanks.
