Obituary - We again chronicle the death of anotherof our old neighbors and friends, Joel Sprague, which occurred at hishome in Batavia on Friday last, aged 59 years. Mr. Sprague was born inthis town, and lived with his mother for many years in thisneighborhood. He was a great lover of horses. It was his delight todrive a fancy horse and he made a business of buying and fittinghorses for the New York market. After moving into town he lost hishealth and during the last years of his life he was an invalid. Butduring all these years his son, Alvin, to his praised be it spoken,stood by him, waited upon him, and administered to his wants by dayand through nights. He was always ready without a murmur or complaintto comfort and console his afflicted father. Verily he will berewarded, and may his days be long on the earth and full ofblessedness. Mr. Sprague's funeral was attended on Sunday, Rev. C. A.Johnson officating. He leaves two sons and a daughter to mourn him.He was buried in Batavia, Genessee, NY.
