[10187] All data from R. Tibbetts. George enlisted in WWI, made Corporal andwas chosen for Officers' Candidate School. He graduated from OCSApr 19 1918, Camp Custer, MI as 2nd Lieut. At war's end he was ActingCompany Commander of 9th Co, !st Gp, Camp Hancock, GA, and up forpromotion to 1st Lt.. After the war he went to U of Wisc. where he wasPres. of Saddle & Sirloin Club and a member of the honors fraternityAlpha Zeta. He became an acknowledged expert in Holstein-Friesancattle and their breeding and in 1939 was in charge of a FancyHolstein herd owned by a gazillionaire. He has given lectures andspeeches at Purdue University, Breeders Conventions, and is arecognized authority on the subject by the U of Wisc, which has sentclasses to study his work. In 1939 he was still unmarried.
