Data from Olson. He came to America on the James, which sailed fromLondon, England Jul 13, 1635 at age 39. He was accompanied by hiswife, Elizabeth, aged 39, and two children, Jeremiah ("Jeremy"), aged4, and Samuel, aged 2 and his sister, Rememberance, aged 28. Thestatement has sometimes appeared in print that he had a second wifeMary, but this is an error. The tradition has been handed down in somebranches of the family that this first Henry Tibbetts came fromManchester, England. In another branch the tradition is that he camefrom Wales. This does not mean that he came from modern Wales butmerely that he was Welsh, that is to say, of the ancient Britishstock, not Anglo-Saxon. Devon and Cornwall were in ancient days calledWest Wales.
There are no records to prove that Henry Tibbetts had any morechildren than his two sons, Jeremiah and Samuel, who came with himfrom England, and his daughter Rebecca, who was born in New Englandand who married Thomas Nock.

Data from Durrell gives the above named false wife as Mary Austin andgives her birth as about 1609 and her marriage to Henry as about 1674.Durrell also states that he was born in London but, although he sailedfrom there, I have seen no proof as to his actual birth place.Durrell gives his death date as the date his will was proved.
Reed Tibbetts offered the following information. It appears thatboth Henry and Elizabeth were born in London. Henry and his wife andsons, Jeremiah and Samuel, plus Henry's sister Remembrance arrivedconcurrently with Humphrey Chadbourne in 1635, landing at Portsmouth,NH.
This per MTJ'S Tibbets Genealogy.
Information from Nettie Grove Nicholson's "A 10th Generation Yankeefrom Maine" states: "The come-overer, Henry Tybbot, came on the Jameson 13 July 1635, with wife Elizabeth Austin (age 39, same as his) hissister Remembrance, age 28, and children: Jeremey, 4; Samuel, 2, andJames, a baby. They went to Northam (Dover) NH. After arriving inDover, daughter. Rebecca, was born.
There is no more mention of baby James, so I assume he died youngunless the Thomas b.1635 of MTJ's record and the James of Nettie's arethe same person. She may have confused the baby's name with thevessel's name when writing her information down. I know of no otherrecord that lists a "James" as their son. Further info from SusanCanney, So. Hadley, MA,GENSERV Database CANC6GA is my source for hisparentage.
