He says; I finally got to go the theNational Archives and Library of Congress. It was a great experience,but bewildering, as you just can't take it all in in one day. I planon going over many more times. Also the Delaware Hall of Records willbe open as a pilot program, on Sat beginning July 11th, so maybe I canaccomplish something there as well. As you will note from the familygroup sheet, my brother Dean is a proud father of a new baby girl, 8#6 oz. Her name is Alissa McAllister and she was born 24 June 1981.Also my son Scott graduated from Dover High School on June 6, 1981 andis looking for a college to attend. I surely wish I could get to thefamily reunion in St George on the 17th. (We wish he could come too.We would like closer acquaintance with this excellent and enthusiasticgenealogist on the McAllister and allied family line in Delaware.)
McAllister Newsletter - From Charles and Afton McAllister, Estacada,Oregon; "We went to Calif in March. Mack's heart flared up again, andhe was down for a couple of months. He is back to teaching his S.S.Class, apparently doing fine now. The thing I wanted to tell you isabout Kenneth (Kenneth, their son, is our excellent researcher wholived in Dover, Delaware. Please pray for him and his continued workin our behalf right in the area where our ancestors lived.). He is inthe Hospital in Washington, D.C. with Leukemia, the type is MyloBlastic. It has been a shock. He was a month in Milford, DelawareHosp and seemed to be doing fine, but they found some more cancercells so sent him to Washington. His spirit has been high. He feelsthe Lord will preserve him because he hasn't finished his work. Hisaddress if you want to write to him is--Kenneth L. McAllister, Room #C 4314, % Georgetown University Hospital, 3800 Resevoir Road,Washington, D.C." (This is a blow to our organization. We need thisman so very much. Kenneth Lynn McAllister 1939-1983
Our Delaware Researcher, passed away at his home in Dover, Delaware,25 Aug 1983. He was born 16 March 1939 to Charles and Afton (Cole)McAllister. He is survived by his wife, Marny, and sons, Scott andMark. His parents and brother Dean and Don, his sister Jeniene. Hisparents and brothers and sister traveled from their homes in Oregonand Calif to be with Marny and her boys, and to attend the services.They were all comforted by the funeral which was conducted from theDover Ward where Kenneth had acted as Ward Clerk until he became tooweak. He was then made Ward Genealogical Examiner, which position heheld until the time of his passing. We wish to express our thanks forthe fine work he did for us. We will miss him very much.
