As a young woman, Esther taught in the Park Hill Mission, whosesuperintendent was the noted Rev. Samuel A. Worcester, veteranmissionary to the Cherokees. Their first home was at Beattie'sPrairie, in the neighborhood of Canaan Mission.

Link with Leona Halley Henderson (lee@gower.net) whose source, EmmetStarr's 'Old Cherokee Families' researched Oct 1995, supports datagiven in Hoyt's Issue Fall 1991 which is used here. Halley states thatthe middle name is Booth. HHH names this Hinman without the middlename of Booth and gives no wife or other information. S. Lowry nameshim Hindman Booth Hoyt and states that he died in the Civil War.
