In Westchester County, NY records, the surname appears as Heustes orHuestis. On Oct 8 1663, Robert "Huested" and six other Westchestermen were made freeman in the Colony of Connecticut. On Dep 28 1673after the Dutch re-occupied New Yor, Robert Heustis and seven otherQuakers in Westchester pledged that they would not take up armsagainst the Dutch government.
Most of Marie's information came via the publication, The New YorkGenealogical and Biographical Register. I have purchased copies ofthis register and fully credit the NYGB from Vol. 129, Number 1,January 1998 throught Vol. 129, Number 4, October 1998, with the dataused here even in the event it varied from the original contributionfrom Marie.

Robert Huestis, S., Borrough and Town of Westchester, leaves to wife,Elizabeth, all moveable estate. To son, Robert, Jr., all my land atStony Book with the pasture land adjoining and meadow at rear. Toson, Samuel, part of meadow at the head of the neck, beginning at thehead of the cove down to the Little creek. To son John, "my meadow atthe ditches, between Edward Collier and Daniel Turner's meadow, and my40 acre in the Long Reach. To son Jonathan, the remainder of my meadowat the Head of the neck, with the upland adjoining, and my 6 acres ofland not disposed of in the last Division, a a 25 pound privilege ofCommanage." Leaves to son David 1 shilling. To son Robert a 25 Poundpivilege of Commonage. Legacies to daughters Wlizabeth Mooineux,Sarah Betts, and Mary Colier. Makes wife Elizabeth and Josiah Hunt,Jr., executors. Witnesses: Henry Tayler, John Bayler, Ri. Ward.Dated Nov 19 1701; Proved Mar 20 1704/05.
Collections of the New York Historical Society, Vol. 1, 1892,Abstracts of Wills, 1665-1707, pages 402-403 has Robert's will. Inthis copy he also instructs son Robert to "pay to his sisters,Elizabeth Molyneaus and Abigail Hunt, 10 (pounds) each". He instructsSamuel to "pay my daughter, Sara Betts, 5 (pounds)." He leaves 1shilling to his daughter Mary Collier. His will is reproduced on pages204/205 of Vol. 129, Number 3, July 1998 of the New York Genealogicaland Bigraphical Register.
