According to the article covering the Huestis family by Gordon L.Remington, F.U.G.A., that was presented in the New York Genealogicaland Bigraphical Register, Vol 129 Number 1 through 4, 1998, Elizabethhas been erroneously reported to be the daughter of Lawrence Miller.
Data from Marie Heustis gives her heritage as being the daughter ofLawrence Miller and Joane Smith; Lawrence's parents being John Millerand ? Swinnerton; Joane's father being Angell Smith.
Another source indicates a slightly different pedigree for Elizabethwith Lawrence Smith's parents being John Miller and Anne Winterhay;and Joane's parents as being Angell Smith and Catherine Prout.
Mr. Remington indicates that the error first was printed in theHartford Times in the early 1940s and was based on conjecture notsubstantiated. He further includes the research information of GeorgeE. McCraken who pointed out that Elizabeth Miller was christened Feb 41614/15 and therefore could not have been the mother of Angell Hustisborn 1621. The christenings of Elizabeth Miller's siblings arerecorded and all appear to be near the times of their births, not asadults as would have to be the case for Elizabeth.
Remington's article includes the following -
