grandmother Sarah Heustis was supposedly born in 1803, and whereOliver Heustis may have run a mill before 1820. Jesse lived elsewherein Orange County. From the Census records for his son Stephen H., welearn that Henry apparently traveled with Jesse to Illinois around1856, then moved
back to Dearborn County, IN by 1860, where he may have worked withZephaniah, Oliver's son, on the railroad. (Stephen was listed in 1860,1880, 1900, 1910 and 1920 as born in IL, but in 1870 he was recordedas born in Indiana.)

According to Rev. Judge A.J. Cotton of Dearborn County, IN in COTTON'SKEEPSAKE, published for the author by Applegate & Co., 1858 atCincinnati:
Henry Heustis, brother to O.H. Heustis, Esq., and son-in-law of theRev. Daniel Plummer, was thrown from his wagon, fell upon a log, whichproduced a rupture in his bowels, suffered a world of woe, and thendied. He was a man of genius and of eloquence, dearly loved, andgreatly missed.
According to son Edwin's obituary, Henry died when Edwin was 8 yearsold -- which would place Henry's death date in late 1839. Edwin is myg-g-grandfather.
