Mrs. Bennett, 90, Mother of Warren Attorney, Is Dead
Mrs. LTV (Amber Lafferty) Bennett, mother of G. Howard Lafferty,Warren attorney and former councilman, and city solicitor, died ofcomplications at 11 a. m. Thursday at the Quimby Rest Home at Fowlerwhere she had resided the last five years. She was 90.
Born April 16, 1872, in Geneva, Pa., she was the daughter of Richmondand Theresa Amsden Wescott. Her first husband, George E. Lafferty,died July8, 1936. In 1946 she married the Rev. L. V. Bennett, aretired Congregational minister, who died Jan. 20, 1958.
A resident here since 1920, coming from Ashtabula County, she was amember of the Winona Methodist Church.
Beside a son, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. J. R. (Maud) Websterof Warren; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held Saturday ar 1 p.m. at the Carl W. HallFuneral Home. Burial will be in Lenox Cemetery, Ray Corners.

Mrs. E. S. Dunham, Detention Home Matron, is Dead,
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon forMrs. Edith Dunham, 70, wife of E. S. Dunham, and Matron of theAshtabula County Detention Home, who died at 5:10 Saturday morningfollowing a lingering illness.
The services will be held from the home with Rev. W. E. Powell,Brookville, PA, a former pastor of the local Baptist Churchofficiating.
When Ashtabula County Detention Home was established on May 1, 1924,Mrs. Dunham became the first matron and filled the position withcredit for nearly sixteen years. Mrs. Dunham has been more than amatron to many of the 1650 children who have passed through the homeand many have made yearly visits to see her.
Mrs. Dunham was a member of the Women's Benefit Association and of theJefferson Baptist Church. In earlier years she was active in theWomen's Republican Club.
She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Stuck; twogranddaughters, Mrs. George Barnard of Kirkland and Mrs. ClarenceMetcalf of Ashtabula, and two great grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs.Amber Lafferty, of Warren; Mrs. May Waid, of Monroe, and Mrs. EthelNorris of Meadville, PA; two brothers, Rev. Cyrus Westcott of Geneva,PA and Albert Westcott of Meadville, PA, also survive.
Friends may call at the home at any time. Burial will be made inOakdale Cemetery.
