Thresa J. Wescott, passed away at 3 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5th, at the homeof her daughter in Jefferson, after an illness of 10 days. Mrs.Wescott was born Dec. 30, 1845. Surviving are six children, Mrs. E. S.Dunham, Jefferson, OH, Mrs. George Lafferty, Warren, OH, Rev. C. A.Wescott, Akely, PA, Mrs. C. E. Waid, Conneaut, OH, John A. Wescott,and Mrs. Charles Norris, Meadville, PA. A sister, Mrs. George Wood,Adame Ave., Ashtabula, a brother, R. S. Amsden, of Jefferson, alsosurvive. Her husband, Richmond Wescott passed away Jan. 19, 1929.Private prayer at the home of her daughter in Jefferson, OH onTuesday, Nov. 27 at 12:30 p. m. Funeral services at the M. E. Thomas was Captainof a military company in Marlborough. He was also a town blacksmith,and early settler in the Robin Hill district of Marlborough.
Lucy Howe, his daughter and a widow at the time of his death wasappointed Admin. of his estate of 106 pounds.

Thomas was a Revolutionary War Soldier. DAR Patriot Index -Centennial Edition, Part 1, pg. 57.
Dr. Thomas Amsden lived most of his life in Dummerston, VT., and inthe book "History of Dummerston" he was one of the seventeen coroner'sjury who were assembled March 15, 1775 to inquire into the cause ofthe death of William French. The original report of the investigationis still preserved and Dr. Amsden's name is first on the list ofjurymen. William French and Daniel Houghton, who were from Petersham,MA were murdered.
Dr. Amsden also represented Dummerston at the General Court March 12,1778 and served also as Town Clerk. He removed from Dummerston toPetersham, MA, his old home, where the last mention of him in publiclife was when he petitioned the General Court in 1798 to be includedin the new township of Dana, MA. where he died in 1822.
