DAVID A. ANNIS, farmer, Lawerenceburgh Township, on of its mostsubstantial residents, was born in Dearborn County, in 1829. He is ason of Thomas ANNIS, and grew to maturity on his father's farm. Hewas educated in the common schools, and from his youth up has madefarming his chief occupation. He married, in 1862, Mary PEARSON, anative of this county, and daughter of Joseph and Emiline (AYRES)PEARSON, natives of Hamilton County, Ohio. her mother was born andreared in Cincinnati till grown, then moved to College Hill, ninemiles from the city, on a farm. Her parents resided in this countyfor a time, and then returned to Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. ANNIS have hadfive children to them: Ralph W., Harry, Louie, Elvin, and Mary Belle.Two are deceased. After his marriage Mr. ANNIS began business forhimself on the old homestead, to which he has made some additions bypurchase. He has always devoted most of his attention to generalagriculture, in which he has been quite successful, now owning anexcellent farm in this county, besides a large tract in Pratt County,Kas. He is regarded as one of the best farmers of the township, andin every respect an exemplary citizen; and having resided in thecounty of his birth all his life, is well worthy of taking acreditable position in its history.
