All data from Leining and Chefalo. Lucille's mother, Nellie Mae,died at Lucille's home. Lucille was good to her mother and was withher at the time of death. Lucille married Milt Colby 30 May 1925 inRiverside, Ca. Their only baby Lucille Mae was born 15 April 1933 anddied on the same day. Even though they were unable to have otherchildren they raised many foster children, especially those childrenwith problems that really needed their help. They adopted a girlnamed Barbara.
Elaine Lucille Lierle Young came into their lives in 1965. Elaine wasnamed after Lucille. According to Mom, (Elaina Lierle Hill) in ane-mail written in March of 2001: I had memories of Aunt Lucille andUncle Milt for years before I got reacquainted. I was around sixyears old when my mother left Riverside. You can get the exact timingfrom Mother and Ed's marriage date. (Mildred & Ed Stephens). Yourfather took me to Riverside to see my real father Percy and we went tosee Aunt Lucille and Uncle Milt at that time. We corresponded andthey had that summer place in Utah and you, me and the other childrenwent to visit them during a couple of summers close to the end of yourfather's and my marriage. I know that during mother's hard times,Uncle Milt gave her the money to leave Riverside, etc . Aunt Lucillesaid my father became very ill, violent, and was hospitalized forquite some time after my parents' divorce. Mother said that Milt andLucille wanted to adopt me at
the time of my parents divorce, because they felt they could give mea more stable home. They had a daughter that died shortly afterbirth. Love, Mom
