In reference to your question regarding Harriet Hoyt's date of death -I have changed my file to show May 6, 1851 based on the following:
A letter from Leona May Bedient (a grand-daughter of Harvey) Crouchleyand Charles
Edward Bedient dated 17 July 1946. In this letter, she states thatshe had gone to Wilton the day before and visited cemeteries and theTown Hall. As an attachment to the letter she states "Tombstones inSt Matthews Cemetery -Wilton Harriet Hoyt wife of Harvey Bedient
born Mar 23 1818 died May 6 1851" another attachment to the sameletter states "Wilton Town Hall Records Birth Marriages & Deaths1849-1851 Volume Death May 6 1850 Harriet
Bedient female, AE 33, white, born Norwalk, resided Wilton of diseaseof the heart"
Obviously, there is a contradiction in the two death dates - I have noidea whether the error occurred in the Record or her letter but if youuse the date of birth (pretty well established) and add the age of 33years, the date would have to be 1851, as given from the tombstone. Ihave copies of several of Leona's letters and her writing is veryclear and she seems to be quite clear in her details. Copies of theseletters are on file in the Wilton CT Library in Volume I, BedientGenealogy Notebooks. These particular references appear on pages 62,64A, and 69. If you should want copies of those pages, the library isvery good about copying them
and just charging for the postage and copy fees (something like 25cents a page).
The reason I changed from May 16th is that that source - a very goodone - is also prone to making typographical errors and I suspect thatis what happened. I just think that the two May 6th references arevery reliable.
Second subject - I don't see any reason for not mentioning theNewsletter.
