Data from Hoyt's Issue Fall 1994 has birthplace as Danbury, CT as doesdata from Marty Smith therefore that place is used here. HHH givesbirthplace as Norwalk, Fairfield Co., CT.
Marriage place from Marty Smith as well as this from the 1882 "Historyof Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, Ohio" published by H.Z. Williams &Bros. in Cleveland, OH.
On page 251 & 252 of Volume I, we find the following:
"The firm of D. & L. King built a block on Main Street in 1828, intowhich they moved their store the following year. Edward E. Hoytpurchased their establishment in 1832, and effected a consolidationwith Charles R. Harmon. This was then the largest store in the town.In 1837 the Harmon interest was purchased by Lewis and James Hoyt,brothers of Edward E. Hoyt. Until 1864 business was conducted by thefirm of E. E. Hoyt & Co., when it was terminated by the death of thesenior partner. James Hoyt retired in 1864. Twice during the quartercentury of this firm's existence, its property was consumed by fire,in 1849 and in 1860." The city referred to is Warren, OH.
